full time English Teacher (Native Speakers)

at Ed Cocks in Kyiv

for Kyiv and Odessa, Ukraine

New company requires four native speakers (American, Australian, Canadian or UK citizen) within the next 6 months. Qualifications include a valid TEFL Training program of 110+ hours which included supervised student teaching. Prefer 1 year or more experience but will consider someone new with a solid recommendation from a reputable program.

Compensation of $1,200 + $300 (living allowance). Company will provide visa/work permit support with 1 year contract. Five to six days/evenings a week (26-28 X 1 hour sessions each week, Saturday is a short day from 10-4 when scheduled, Sunday is not a workday), fixed locations in new facilities for teaching with internet access. Office hours are required for student meetings, phone availability and preparation. Students are 18 to 70 and split shifts are kept to a minimum. Normal Saturday work rotation is one in 3-4. There are 4 weeks paid vacation per year. This is a full-time position of approximately 40 hours each week for a 12 month year so there is no need for private students or running around town for in-company work.

Kyiv is a large city (3.5 million) which abounds in culture. Ballet tickets on the main floor run about $8-12 each. Plenty of good restaurants in all price ranges and styles. Apartment rentals are realistically around $500-600 for a single in the outer edges of the city but walking distance to an extensive metro system (monthly pass $12). Split an apartment with a good roomie and you can get a pretty decent place a bit closer in for about $500 each. Good air service and a pro-western government.
